Paper Mache Ornament by Beth Kingston

These can be made with any cardboard/paper mache shape. The no-mess adhesive makes this a great project for kids as well!

Supplies:

  • cardboard/paper mache shape

  • Xyron 1.5” create-a-sticker

  • ½” x 4” (approx.) strips of newspaper, antique book pages, etc.

  • paint or ink spray

  • rub-ons, stickers, assorted embellishments

Instructions:

  1. Run two strips of newspaper/book pages side by side (printed side up) through the Xyron 1.5” create-a-sticker. As soon as first two strips disappear in to the machine, insert the next two strips. Repeat until you think you have enough strips to cover the shape.

  2. Peel clear film from strips and peel strips off of backing one at a time. Apply to shape randomly until entire shape is covered.

  3. Paint or spray shape to desired color. Let dry.

  4. Embellish as desired with rub-ons, stickers, flowers, etc.
